Dr. Austin earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA. He then went on to receive his Doctorate in Chiropractic at Life Chiropractic College West in the San Francisco Bay Area. He graduated with the highest number of adjustments ever given by a student intern in the Life West Health Center, receiving platinum honors with over 800 adjustments (the minimum requirements is 300), and was awarded the clinical excellence award given to just one student per graduating class. Shortly after graduation, Dr. Austin accepted an associate Chiropractor role at The Source Chiropractic in Oakland, CA and has since worked at Community Chiropractic Center in Poway, CA and Harmonize Chiropractic in Charlottesville, VA, before moving to Williamsburg, VA to pursue his dream of starting his own practice and serving his community.
In addition to several full spine techniques taught throughout the program. Dr Austin participated in learning outside of the required curriculum to study extremity adjusting, therapeutic taping, instrument assisted protocols, soft tissue stretching as well as the analysis and adjusting of expecting mothers and kids. This unique blend of technique and experience has earned Dr. Austin great opportunities to work with elite extreme sports athletes participating in the Dew Tour and Nitro circus.
While practicing mostly diversified and drop table adjustments, Dr Austin is also well versed in low force techniques when needed and Webster Technique for pregnancy and pediatrics.
Born into a Military family in Norfolk, VA. His father served as a Navy Seal and mother a preschool teacher. Living a very active lifestyle, Austin has played a wide range of sports from water polo, baseball, swimming, and collegiate soccer. After graduation he discovered and began to train Crossfit earning a spot on the 2014 NorCal Mountain View Crossfit regional qualifying team. He also earned a Rugby scholarship to play with the Life West Gladiators as a student athlete through 4 seasons of 15’s and 7’s as they won a national championship in 2015. This experience has led him to gain a rich knowledge of the bodies ideal functional movement patterns and how chiropractic can aid in overall and specific athletic performance.
